How to set up a free VPN on iPhone

You can connect an iPhone or iPad in three main ways. All start the same way: create a free account, then create a VPN account for the protocol you want.

Option 1: WireGuard (easiest)

1. Install WireGuard from the App Store.
2. On your account page, show the QR code on another screen (or download the .conf file).
3. In WireGuard tap Add a tunnel → Create from QR code, allow the VPN configuration and switch it on.

Option 2: L2TP/IPsec (no app needed)

Open Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → VPN → Add VPN Configuration, choose L2TP, and enter the server, your username, password and the pre-shared key ("Secret") from your account page.

Option 3: V2Ray (for networks that block VPNs)

Install an app such as V2Box, copy the connection link from your account page and import it from the clipboard.

Check it works

Search the web for "what is my IP". The location shown should match the country of your VPN server.
