How to set up a free VPN on Android

First create a free account and a VPN account for the protocol you want. Then pick one of these:

WireGuard (recommended)

1. Install WireGuard from Google Play.
2. Tap + → Scan from QR code and scan the code on your account page (shown on another screen), or import the .conf file.
3. Switch the tunnel on and allow the VPN connection.

OpenVPN

For networks that block ordinary VPNs, install v2rayNG from its official GitHub page and import your connection link. V2Ray on Android guide

A note on L2TP

Android 12 and newer no longer include L2TP/IPsec in the VPN settings. Read what to use instead.
