How to check that your VPN is working

Once your VPN app says "connected", do two quick checks.
1. Your IP address
Search the web for "what is my IP". The IP address and location shown should belong to your VPN server's country, not your own. If you still see your own location, the VPN is not carrying your traffic: disconnect and connect again, and make sure only one VPN app is running.
2. DNS
DNS turns website names into addresses. Some DNS leak test websites show which DNS servers your device is using. With WireGuard accounts from this site, the configuration sets its own DNS servers, so you should not see your internet provider's DNS listed.
If only some apps use the VPN
That is normal for SSH tunnels on computers, which work as a proxy for the browser or apps you configure. WireGuard, OpenVPN, L2TP and V2Ray in VPN/TUN mode carry all traffic.
